Congress 2025 T-Shirt Design Contest
Hello fellow Woodcarvers. We've had quite a few carvers ask about our t-shirt designs. So we will be holding a t-shirt design for all of you to show off your creativity. So here are the guidelines:
1. Must pertain to the art of woodcarving (must have the AWC logo included-see pictures)
2. No explicit words or objects
3. Have the year included
4. Easy to read from a distance
5. Must be emailed to blkuby@charter.net
6. Winner will be decided by Board of Directors (all entries will be posted on Facebook page)
Entries must be received by March 1st 2025. Winner will be decided during the board meeting and announced ending of January. Winner will receive 2 t-shirts and their 2025 membership paid.

It's with a heavy heart that the AWC Board has to announce the passing of Board Member Whitey Hershberger. Many of you may know Whitey as the quiet guy with the beard. He was know for his artistic vision every time he designed the amazing showroom over the past years. He had an eye for placing each and every carving in a spot that showed it in the best light. He was a friend to many and was truly a great carver. He will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. The International Woodcarvers Congress (IWC), held the second full week in June each year, is a week-long celebration of the woodcarving arts. Activities during Congress Week include:
Wood carving competition in over 95 separate categories with nationally known judges
Wood carving classes in air conditioned facilities that cover a variety of carving and related subjects
Unique Judges' Critique SessionsÂ
Open to the public wood carving show in air conditioned space
Annual Awards BanquetÂ
Annual AWC Membership meeting
Congress Week takes place at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 1212 E. Quarry Street, Maquoketa, IA . 52060.
The 57rd Congress will occur the second full week of June :Â 6/09/25 through 6/09/25.
Please note :  "Walk-in" carving will be accepted at the Jackson County Fairgrounds show site BOYER HALL (which is located behind Pearson Hall)
Saturday, June  7th and Sunday, June 8th between 12 am and 4pm
 Monday, June 09 from 7:00-8:00am pre-registered ONLY. Absolutely no exceptions will be allowed in at that time.Â
Competition Showroom openÂ
10:00 AM through 5:00 PM Thursday through Friday,
10:00 AM through 4:00 PM  Saturday. Â

The Affiliated Wood Carvers, Ltd, is the sponsoring organization of IWC. Membership in the AWC and participation in the International Woodcarvers Congress is open to anyone interested in the art of wood carving. Annual membership includes informational newsletters (available online), reduced admission to the show during Congress Week (upon presentation of your membership card), access to the seminars and competition, and online access to the annual color pictorial Show Report. We encourage you to join AWC and promote the wood carving arts through participation in the Congress. Membership runs from January 1 through December 31 and is $25 for those living in the United States and $30 (USD) for those in all other countries. To download the membership form click HERE.
