Biography:

Roger Nadrchal is located in Norfolk, Nebraska. Roger has always been an artist in both painting, woodworking, and woodcarving.  He started carving in 1982, carved for 5 years then and returned to his woodcarving passion in 2011.  Back in the 80’s he carved mostly song birds, ducks, and water fowl.  Recent years he has been concentrating on natural wildlife, caricatures, bark carvings and of course Santa's. 

Roger balances his time between family, friends, woodcarving events and as the CEO of NeighborWorks Northeast Nebraska in Norfolk.

Roger attended his first Doane Experience in 2012 and has since been committed to woodcarving.  He has attended many carving workshops in Nebraska.  Some of the instructors he has taken classes under are  Morris Anderson, Kirt and Linda Curtis, Marty Dolphens, PJ Driscoll, Debbe Edwards, Rick Jensen, and Desiree Hajny. 

He received several awards at the Cedar Rapids Iowa Show, Congress International Woodcarving Show in Maquoketa Iowa, Kaw Valley Show in Topeka, and the Mid-America Woodcarvers Association Shows in Omaha. 

In 2016 Roger started teaching woodcarving classes at locations such as the Gretna Woodcarving Experience, Doane Experience, Wahpeton Woodcarving Workshop, Mid America Woodcarvers Assn, Nebraska Carving Retreat, Coleridge Carvers, and other local club events.

Classes range from 2 – 5 days.  Roger welcomes advanced to intermediate carvers and is known for his step-by-step instruction in both carving and painting the finished carving during the classes.

Roger is an active member of the Northeast Nebraska Woodcarvers Association and the Mid America Woodcarvers Association serving on the Board and is the current Treasurer.
